FAQS

Do I really need makeup for my wedding? Will I look like myself?
A common concern for many brides is whether or not it's necessary to spend the extra money for a professional makeup application. I can definitely tell you that it can make all the difference in the world. A professional makeup artist knows exactly how to bring out your best features, whether it be your bright eyes, chiseled jaw, gorgeous cheek bones or beautiful smile. I specialize in makeup that I like to call "me, but better." Using a lighter application, I can achieve dramatic results that will still make you look like yourself, your skin will still look like skin, and you will be absolutely glowing. As a makeup artist, I also understand how to ensure your professional photos will look their very best. It's common for faces to get washed out on camera, so what looks good in person may not translate quite the same on camera. Along with that, the makeup I use is the highest quality and made for extremely long-lasting wear and all types of weather conditions. Not only will you look great, your makeup will be one less thing your have to worry about on an otherwise stressful day. That makes it worth it in itself!

Do you do a trial run or consultation?
Yes, with all brides I will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your skin type, style, your vision, and what type of look you are interested in. While some looks look beautiful on paper, they don't always translate well on every skin tone and every face. This is why the trial run is crucial. Using that information, we will schedule a trial run so we can make sure everything looks perfect before the big day. I will take images in order to recreate the look exactly, and also give you an idea of what the makeup might look like under heavy lighting, flash photography, etc.

What if I don't like my makeup during my consult / trial / day of the wedding?
Your satisfaction is my number one priority. The purpose of getting your makeup done is for you to look and feel beautiful on your big day without the undue stress. I will do everything in my power to make sure you are satisfied with the final product. We can make changes during your trial until you feel completely satisfied with the outcome. That's the whole purpose! I want to hear your critiques and make sure it is 100% what you want. With that being said, if anything would happen to change in between the trial and day of the event, please contact me as soon as possible. We can discuss making small changes, or if necessary, an additional trial can be done for a fee.

Will you remain on site for additional makeup touch-ups throughout the night?
This option is not included. Keep in mind, though, that all makeup sessions include primed skin, long wearing high end makeup, and setting sprays to help ensure your makeup stays in place throughout the night. (Therefore you shouldn't need much of a touch up later in the night!)

What kind of makeup do you use?
All of my products are of the highest quality and considered "high end" makeup brands used for professional HD photography. This will include brands such as Makeup Forever, MAC, NARS, Benefit, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Urban Decay, Tarte, Smashbox, Makeup Geek Cosmetics, and much, much more.

Do you airbrush?
I currently do not offer airbrush.

Do you apply false lashes?
Yes, I will have both full strip lashes as well as individuals depending on your desired looked. Please indicate if you are interested in using false lashes at your trial. False eyelashes are included in the price of all sessions. If you have any members of your party that are interested in false eyelash application alone, that can be arranged for a small fee.

If you are interested in learning more about makeup, I would be more than willing to work with you. Contact me and we can make arrangements.
